FB & Twitter: blog killers

Facebook and Twitter have killed my will to blog. Since I started tweeting & Facebooking (I started Twitter last spring or summer, I think, and FB in 10/08 "for work"), I've been very silent on this blog as well as my old LiveJournal account. I was just going through old LJ posts and most of them were very enjoyable trips down memory lane.

So I want to pick it up again--I'm just not sure if I should split my focus between LJ and this blog, or just focus on this blog. LJ is a weird scene. You post something and hope you'll get comments--more often than not, it's nothing but crickets over there. Here, I dunno if anyone's reading either. (Hello? Is anybody out there?)

I guess that's why FB and Twitter are the social media outlets that get most of my attention now. I know people are reading because they have no choice. My missives either show up in friends' FB News Feed or on followers' Twitter stream. Instant gratification.

I've needed to consolidate my internet presence for a while, but I don't want to delete anything. I also have a very dusty Tumblr account. Gah. So many Suzamaphones, so little time. How do people decide where to focus their online energy?

In other news, I'm listening to an old playlist on my ipod on shuffle and Hall & Oates' "Rich Girl" just gave way to Depeche Mode's "John the Revelator." Awesome.

Here's a video for the latter:

(BTW, I had a crush on Dave Gahan in high school. He is still hot. Martin Gore, on the other hand, still looks silly. WTF black furry hat with ear flaps?)
